Biography
Miles brings a wealth of land management and pipeline-related experi- ence, born out of 44 years of progressive responsibility in the field. His accomplishments and excellent reputation result from continuous training, volunteer commitments on many industry boards and commit- tees, and quality work in the field. When it comes to dealing with unique project challenges Miles is an innovator. As such, he was instru- mental in developing inter-provincial, international and First Nations land acquisition programs. Few industry professionals can match his knowledge and experience.
Miles graduated from Vermilion Ag College. He is a member of the Canadian Association of Petroleum Landmen and the International Right of Way Association. He has served two terms on the provincial Land Agents Advisory Committee, responsible for making provincial legisla- tive recommendations.
Prior to starting HMA Land Services, Miles had a long career with Nova Gas Transmission where he managed the Land Acquisition Program on the Foothills Pre-Build along with all forms of Land Management on thousands of kilometres of mainline pipeline systems with Alberta Gas Trunk Line, which became Nova Gas Transmission. After leaving Nova, Miles managed the land acquisition for the Canadian portion of the Alliance Pipeline System. After the completion of Alliance project, Miles and Dan started HMA Land Services Ltd. in 2001.
